Day 1: And the YouTube searches begin.

We win some; we lose some.

A revision: we lose a lot; we win a few.

I'll start with the day one failures so we can end on a high. Like we're saving the best flavored Mike & Ike for last (nobody likes you, orange).

By 2 pm, I have already:

  • Read at least 20 articles on the "virus which shall not be named". And this is in spite of deleting the Facebook app from my phone and removing the news widget (yes, it's called a widget). But again, we win some; we lose some. ðŸ¤·
  • Slept only 2.5 hours. In my defense, I genuinely tried. Some things are out of our control.
  • Not gone to work. Again, in my defense, I only slept 2.5 hours.
  • Not taken all the medicine. Again, in my defense...well, there really is no defense. We'll work on this.
  • Worried, worried, and worried. Outside my designated worry time, of course. Like I said, it's only 2 pm. Perhaps I should start counting the amount of times I say "what if". What do you think?
Enjoy this gif of your girl Elysa trying to improve her life.

That being said, I've had some successes which deserve celebration.
  • Going to the grocery store despite it feeling like the beginnings of a zombie apocalypse
  • Doing the workout. What what!

And now, to the promised workout portion of today's post.

I really wanted to go for a walk (I've heard it's good for you, who would have thought?), but my allergies decided the outdoors are just not for us today. Season change got us down. So, I resorted to what I'm sure will be my new favorite YouTube search:
20 minute workout for beginners
And the lucky winner was:

I mean, watch it if you want. She's great!

So I laced up my neon blue sneakers and got cracking. 5:53 minutes into this fairly easy video, the asthma attack hit. We had just finished the warm-up. The warm-up! It's a very scary sensation to feel your body is failing you. It left me frustrated. Nonetheless, I took 2 puffs of the trusty inhaler and kept going, using every single modification she presented.

I guess you can call me sweaty yet satisfied. And perhaps proud I kept going.

Until tomorrow friends, until tomorrow.
